To increase precision of marketing a novel battery loading system the client seeks to gain a clearer understanding of the current AGV – automated guided vehicles – market situation including a central European analysis of all local manufacturers and general contractors.

DTO approach and procedure

In a first step, the AGV market was segmented into significant areas of application – e.g. industrial production, logistics, health care – and prevalent manufacturers as well as general contractors were identified. In a second step, these providers were surveyed through qualitative expert interviews focusing the sales figures of their portfolios.

Results

In a strategy workshop, DTO presented an international market volume that distinguishes among regions, areas of application, payloads of the AGVs, and implemented power systems. Building upon that, a strategic road map was designed cooperatively.
